Brahmapurāṇā

The transliteration of the Brahmapurāna (BrP) was part of the tasks carried out by Renate Söhnen-Thieme and Peter Schreiner for the Tübingen Purāna Project, a project institutionalized at the Seminar for Indology and Comparative History of Religions of the University of Tübingen (Germany) from 1982 to 1988 under the chairmanship of Heinrich von Stietencron and financed by the German Research Foundation. The results of this project have been published as volumes 1-3 of the series Purāna Research Publications, Tübingen (Wiesbaden: Otto Harrassowitz, 1987-1992) and consist of 1. the transliterated text with complete word indexes on microfiches, 2. a detailed English summary of contents with index, 3. an annotated bibliography on Purānic and Epic texts and studies. It had been announced in the Introduction to vol. 1 that the electronic version of the text would be made available on magnetic tape to the Oxford Text Archives; evidently this medium has become difficult if not impossible to use. Thus, it seems justified to make the text available once more. The content of the file and the input conventions have not been changed or corrected since publication.

Brihatkathāshlokasamgraha

This computer version of the Brihatkathāshlokasamgraha of Budhasvāmin was created between 1997 and 2002. The input is based on the text edited by Felix Lacôte (Paris, 1908). It was meant as a working input for myself at first, though I am willing to share it with everyone, who will find it useful. However, you should know that there are certain deviations from Lacôte's text: Cases of printing mistakes in the edition were silently corrected. In a few cases I also adopted a different reading, when it seemed to make more sense. It is also an uncorrected version. The input is based on the TZ-Format created by Peter Schreiner and others, which marks sandhi and composita. Only personal names are never marked as composita in this input.
